How to Find MRO CRISM Products

Most CRISM products are either derived from raw observations found in CRISM EDRs or contain observation-related processing or ancillary data. For example, TRDRs are derived from EDRs but are directly related to DDRs. Please review the What are the CRISM Products? A CRISM Product Primer and the CRISM Data Product SIS, (MRDR Product (pdf), TRDR Product (pdf), TER Product (pdf), MTRDR Product (pdf), EDR/CDR Product (pdf), DDR Product (pdf), and LDR Product (pdf)) for more information.

Most users will want to look at the Targeted Reduced Data Records (also known as TRDRs). To use the TRDRs, you will want the Derived Data Record (DDR) that is associated with it.

ODE offers several specialized queries to make finding TRDRs and their associated DDRs easier:

  • Targeted TRDRs & DDRs (FRT, HRL, HRS) – Selects “Full Resolution Targeted Observations” (FRT), “Half Resolution Long Targeted Observations” (HRL) or “Half Resolution Short Targeted Observation” (HRS) TRDRs and their related DDRs only.

  • Targeted TRDRs & DDRs (FRT, HRL, HRS), center swath only I/F &DDRs – Selects only the center swath “Full Resolution Targeted Observations” (FRT), “Half Resolution Long Targeted Observations” (HRL) or “Half Resolution Short Targeted Observation”(HRS) I/F TRDRs and their related DDRs only. The center swath is swath 07.

  • Multispectral TRDRs & DDRs (MSP, MSW) – Selects “Multispectral Survey, losslessly compressed” (MSP) and “Multispectral Window” (MSW) TRDRs and their related DDRs only

  • EPF and TOD TRDRs & DDRs – Selects Atmospheric (EPF) TRDRs and their related DDRs only.

  • All TRDRs & DDRs – Select TRDRs and their related DDRs only.

The resulting query is still filtered by all other search criteria such as Product ID, lat/lon range or observation range. The search results list is sorted by Product ID. Related TRDRs and DDRs are shown together:

Product Details Related Products Approach

Another way to see related products is via the “Related Products” tab of the Products Detail page. Click a Product ID of a TRDR or DDR from the search results list to view the product’s detail page.

Then select the Related Products tab. Under the Related and Source Products drop down box, you will see a list of related and/or source products. The DDR will be in this list (sometimes the list is long so you might want to resort it by clicking the Product ID column heading twice to sort in reverse alphabetical order).
